Why does my hot tub need the pipes cleaning?

A in a hot tub is a maintenance procedure used to clean and remove buildup of from the plumbing system. Over time, these contaminants accumulate in the hot tub’s pipes and jets, potentially leading to foul odours, cloudy water, or decreased water flow. A pipe flush ensures a cleaner, healthier hot tub environment

How often should I need the pipes cleaning on my hot tub?

The frequency of hot tub pipe cleaning depends on how often you use the hot tub, but a general recommendation is:

  1. Every 3-4 months: Clean the pipes and plumbing system to remove any buildup of biofilm, oils, and other debris that can accumulate over time. Regular cleaning helps maintain water quality and prevents the growth of bacteria.

  2. After heavy usage or a high number of guests: If you use your hot tub frequently or have guests, consider cleaning the pipes more often. This will help prevent contaminants from building up in the system.

  3. When changing the water: Ideally, you should clean the pipes when you’re draining and refilling your hot tub. This ensures that any remaining residue in the plumbing is removed.

To clean the pipes, you can use a pipe cleaning solution or hot tub purge product designed specifically for this purpose. Always follow the manufacturer's recommendations to ensure you're properly maintaining your hot tub’s plumbing system.
